(More customer reviews)This is probably the best inexpensive rack out there especially for commuting: easy to install, takes bungees and baskets, good with most panniers out there, holds a u-lock really well too. Will stand up to light touring. Unless you're into long-distance, heavy touring, I doubt you'll need anything else.
This model is *not* for bikes with disc brakes.
Some tips: spend two bucks at a hardware store bigger washers and tougher nuts and bolts; the supplied ones are fine, but not ideal for heavy use. You may need to bend the upper set of sliding arms to get the thing flat, but those don't carry any vertical weight anyways.
