(More customer reviews)I've just started commuting with these and so far they've been awesome. They come with adapters to adjust for the size of rack that you have and I have had no trouble at all clipping these to the bike and removing them again just as quickly for catching the bus. I haven't had a chance to test out the waterproofing but they certainly feel like they'll do the job when the time comes.
The two of them together have plenty of room for a change of clothes (including my size 14 shoes), a lunch box, a big u-lock and cable, and my tools and spare tube. Though I don't normally carry it, I could put my netbook in there in its own padded bag, too.
There are mesh compartments in the top of the bags but no dividers inside. That's not an issue for me, but don't expect these to be a briefcase replacement.
The only things that they miss are a bottle holder and a little better carrying system when off the bike. The handles are a bit small for my big hands and I'm not sure how easily a shoulder strap would clip on. They do have clips, but no straps are included.
Oh, and one more thing: with my shoe size, getting the right combination of panniers and rack was an effort. I finally settled on these bags and a Axiom Transit Racks rack. The combo put the bags far enough back for easy riding without rubbing. I notice the weight of the loaded bags only a little bit and the bike handling is great. It's so much better not to have a backpack on!
