(More customer reviews)I got these panniers as an upgrade from the less-stylish, smaller ones I'd been using since July. While these panniers are made of sturdy material and are most definitely the size I was looking for, I've run into a few issues. First, each bag has a long, flexible plastic insert that you have to put in to stabilize them. If you don't have anything in the bag, the inserts fold in on themselves - so you have to prop them up again when you're ready to load something up.
Secondly, they come with velcro to secure the bottom back of the bag to the side of your rack, but the velcro is two separate pieces rather than one long one. I lost one side's velcro the very first day I used these.
Third, these are just almost too large. I have a 26" road bike. If I put even one sack of groceries in these, the larger sides, unstabilized, pooch out so that the magnetized snap has no chance of working. I have to fold the tops of the panniers into themselves to keep my stuff covered. Also, adding any weight to these makes them move around a lot more while you're biking. I've had to stop several times because the back corner of one has swung far enough around to get stuck in my spokes while I'm riding, resulting in a horrible noise. I'm worried they could break one of my spokes if they're heavy enough. I tried keeping them further up on the rack, but then I hit them with my feet while pedaling.
I'm switching back to my old, uglier, functional panniers. It's too bad, because these really are cute and the size was appealing...but the trouble isn't worth it.
