I'm not upset at anyone other than myself at the chance I took to buy this item sight unseen and my disinclination to press for a return. In short, it is very cheaply made, as defined by the following: fasteners (bolts here) were so soft that half of them stripped out (head and threads) on installation just from the use of a hand tool (there also are no lock washers or any other means of securing the scant bolts in a threaded plate despite the vibrations this item will endure on the back of a bike over time). The predrilled holes in the unit floor did not align with the brackets. The shell flexes so flimsily that closing the top and bottom takes a bit of guidance by hand to close. The hinges are a weak plastic that makes the modest key-lock about useless (a pair of common pliers could break into this unit rather quickly, it seems). Moreover, the company's minimalist logo label on my unit was put on so sloppily that it was creased...and upon trying to reset it to look nice it tore immediately; mostly paper...and a wonder how in the world that would hold up to indirect light on a porch let alone the sunshine and elements that this sticker faces on the topside. The assembly directions are obscure if not bizarre too. I wish I could find something positive to say here but I really feel like this is an exceptionally poor value. That all said, if this company offered a better quality unit for even a bit more money I'd be inclined to make the exchange or upgrade. Or put another way, if I saw this unit in person and it was half the price (say even $30) I'd consider buying it and hoping to get a couple years out of it. My review here is especially offered to fellow buyers that don't have a lot of money to spend or waste. Still looking for a better quality upgrade.
