(More customer reviews)Hi. I purchased this rack and used it on the first leg of a cycle tour from Alaska to Argentina. After a few hundred miles, the rack was broken in several places. (The aluminum cracked on each side where the supports extend to from behind the seatpost, and the welds broke on both of the tabs that the panniers hook onto). Also, the support on the disc brake side is pretty wonky - it would flex towards the wheel when i put the panniers on. And, the weight i was putting on the rack was nowhere near the 110 lbs that Axiom says it can carry. Another cyclist who i was travelling with had the same rack, and similar problems. He then switched to a rack made by Old Man Mtn., and i used his old axiom hardware to beef up my rack (i.e., 2 supports on the disc side instead of one) I also had to add fender washers to the behind-the-seatpost supports to spread the load better. Furthermore, the support on the disc side interferes with most panniers - mine were homemade kitty litter buckets, and i had to cut a few holes in them to make it work. Standard panniers would not have worked at all with this rack. To make things worse, when I arrived in Colorado and tried to contact Axiom to see about getting a replacement for my broken rack, they list no phone # on the website. The email format of customer service inquiries does not seem to work, because i have not received any responses from the company. Today I ordered a Topeak Super Tourist DX disc-compatible rack, and i look forward to not having to worry about my rack breaking again. Also, Topeak's customer service has a good reputation, in case anything should happen. And my panniers will mount more easily and more securely. I would not recommend the Axiom rack to anybody. It's not worth the $10 in savings, believe me...
