(More customer reviews)I purchased this Wald basket for an old 70s Raleigh Lady Sports. The bicycle had no rear rack and nothing to carry anything in or on, so I felt it was a necessity in order to make it a functional city style bicycle. This basket is huge... and I think that's a great thing. It's not so big that it looks bizarre on the bike, but it holds quite a bit. I threw my larger sized purse in it and it was swimming around in quite a bit of space. I also took it to the grocery store and it was able to fit two very large reusable bags in it without issue (see photos). The two bags totaled about 25 lbs, so I think it's a sturdy basket as well. I was probably pushing the limits of weight it (and the bike) could handle on the front, but it did just fine on the 3 mile ride home from the store. Certainly, an excellent basket that is not only functional, but looks great as well!
