(More customer reviews)If your bike is your only mode of transport as it is for me, you don't have the luxury of leaving it stripped of accessories and gleaming in its native simplicity. So if you have to put shopping baskets on your bike then I highly recommend these. I've been through many a pannier in my days and I must say I find myself wondering why on earth someone here in America never came up with such a simple design before. I've had the nylon fabric collapsible kind with the diagonal support rod inside that catches on your shopping bags as you try to pull them out, and I've had the slide-on style that attaches to the rear rack which to me was such a pain to put on and off I just left it on all the time. In desperation I even modified two white wire front baskets by adding hooks to hang on my rack but since the hooks were short I needed small bungies at the bottom of the baskets to anchor them to the rack and not bounce off when empty. With these rear baskets all you do is hang them from the rear rack, it is THAT SIMPLE. The hooks are long enough to prevent the baskets from bouncing off. When you get home you lift the filled baskets off the bike using the comfortable handy-dandy handles and carry them into the house. No straps, no buckles, nothing to have to unhitch or loosen. I installed the baskets on my Forge Sconset Beach Cruiser Bike - Skyscape Blue with Sunlite Bicycle Welded Rear Rack For 26" Bicycles, Black and can bring home a bunch of groceries and other supplies with total ease.
