(More customer reviews)Why did I buy this? Because I saw it for a great price at a retail outlet. And because I wanted to stabilize my small-framed, single-speed bike with its 700x26 tires, which is parked next to my bed. I have two cats that go nuts at night and I don't want to wake up with handlebars on my face. Upon assembly, one bolt seemed to be stripped, as it just kept turning and turning and turning. I decided to move on. Tightening the Velco strap to 'skinnyfy' the arms was better than not, but the bike easily fell over. It helped to move my back tire to about a 10 degree angle, thus giving it a broader base. The stand would definitely be better if it had the ability to make the legs longer. I might also note that the bike stand is on carpeting. Perhaps it is better suited for a hard floor.
If I hadn't lost my receipt, I would return this item. I think I felt only slightly less-safe with nothing at all, and the bike just leaning against the wall.
