Yakima Sky Box 16 Cargo Box Review

Yakima Sky Box 16 Cargo Box
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was in love with this skybox as it specially fits the Suburu Outback & I travel up & down California a lot for work. I had the top fly off while driving 65mph with people behind - no one was hurt - thankfully. It was potentially deadly. Luckily just humilating picking up ones underwear along the center divide of a major freeway with the CHP standing by. I lost unopened wedding presents, favorite sweaters, you name it. I love & depend on that skybox so much that I wanted to think I had made a mistake. I always pull it closed until the lock swings parrallel on its own. I never force it closed because I was warned it could look latched but not be truly locked. However, both my fiance & i examined the locks. The locks were still in locked position when we looked at the pieces. Horrible. If I wasnt getting married next week I'd have gone on a rampage. Such a shame. Those things are timebombs. I wont even drive behind one anymore.

2001-2009 Toyota Rav4 Roof Rack Crossbars With Locks Review

2001-2009 Toyota Rav4 Roof Rack Crossbars With Locks
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The racks seem fine and I didn't have much trouble assembling and installing them, but the slide-on locking covers to prevent theft don't fit. It feels like they're not sliding on far enough for the locks to engage. When I turned the key on the first one after sliding it on, it broke the plastic piece that makes it lockable.
Good racks but don't buy them for the locking feature!

Electra Alloy Balloon Townie Fender Set Review

Electra Alloy Balloon Townie Fender Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These are what you are looking for if you have a balloon tire Electra Townie. I have a Townie 9D with Fat Frank 2.35" tires and was uncertain as to proper fenders. These are actuual Electra fenders. My bike is gloss black and the matte finish works very well. Even if gloss black were available I would buy these. The finish appears to be powder coat or some type of annodize? They are light weight and I suppose would dent fairly easy, as alloy does. They are very form fit and close to the tire but cover only the tread portion of those nice looking Schwalbes. Engineering is very good as they bolt right up without a fight and clear everything. No rubs, no rattles. High quality mounting hardware. The only decision is whether black would work for you if your bike is a color other than black. Very elegant look! Pair these up with a Brooks B67 saddle, Brooks roll-down panniers, a traditional brass bell etc., if you want a great looking Euro-style city bike. I am extremely happy with this product.

Raider TOW-104 Motorcycle Carrier Review

Raider TOW-104 Motorcycle Carrier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've hauled dirt bikes for years in trucks and trailers but was a little hesitant to buy a hitch hauler, especially since I put it on a Wrangler Rubicon.
But, jumping in with both feet got me a fantastic hauler for a third of the price of brands like Joe Hauler. It does everything expected from a hitch hauler, I haven't had any issues yet with hauling, and like I said, for the price the small issues are moot.
Positives and short comings?
Downsides:
-It's a little light and sways a bit
-You'll have to wiggle the front wheel back and forth to avoid putting pressure on any spoke when you insert the pin to hold the front wheel in place
-The tie down points are in the middle instead of the front
-You can't really get the ramp in the holder once you tie the bike down, and if you do it rattles like crazy
-It's too thin (and light as I mentioned) to carry much more than a dirt bike
-Sits out a little far if you don't have a spare tire
Positives:
-Cheap!!!!
-Bolts together snuggly and being light it's great for vehicles with low tongue capacity
-Gaps in the chanel work perfectly with knobs on dirt bikes
-Holds the bike snuggly once everything is strapped down
-Sticks out far enough to avoid spare tires
-Hasn't had much affect on the driving of my Wrangler despite the weight out back (positive for me!)

I am very pleased with this rack. the only thing I do not like is that to install the rack you have to hand tighten it to your roof rack. I would have thought they would have a quick release latch or something. I guess I'm just lazy. I reccoment this product!

Surf Trunks Surfboard Single Wall Rack - Natural Review

Surf Trunks Surfboard Single Wall Rack - Natural
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a well made, nice looking surfboard wall rack that is constructed professionally with good materials (laminated birch) and is easy to mount.
The owner of the company called me right away when I had a question about the instructions so I would
say they have a good response time for problems.
For those who are concerned how their surfboard looks on the wall, this is the right choice. Other hangers
may be cheaper, but this product looks good and at the same time, is practical. It is easy on and easy off
with your surfboard, especially if you are in a rush to get to the waves.
One note, use your board wax on the dowels and a rubber hammer to tap them into the wall mount holes;
it makes the job much easier.

Pyramid Bicycle Monostay Adapter Review

Pyramid Bicycle Monostay Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The flat bracket that goes around the back of the monostay and attaches to the rack is made of such a soft metal that as I screwed the bolts into the horseshoe shaped piece it simply bent and could not be made completely tight. When I attach something to my bike I like to think that it's going to stay put and not wiggle around. I gave it two stars because it's probably okay for light loads.

Yakima ShowBoat Review

Yakima ShowBoat
Average Reviews:

I recently changed my Subaru Outback for a Toyota Highlander, and this gave me a height loading problem. I have a Hobie Pro Angler kayak, which at a fully loaded weight of 138lb provides a unique set of loading challenges!! The Showboat provides the answer. Combining with the 78" bars, Mako Aero saddles and suitable technique, my yak loads easily and stays rock solid secure.
Highly recommended.

Inline Front Low Rider Rack Aluminum Black Review

Inline Front Low Rider Rack Aluminum Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've used this rack on my touring bike for 5 years and lots of miles. No problems at all. Pay lots more and you can get a slightly stronger, heavier, prettier rack.
A 4 rating only because it will not accomodate fancy locking hooks like come with Orblied panniers. Simple hanging hooks only on top with a shock cord hook on the bottom to keep the bag from bouncing off.

Sunlite Bicycle Beam Rear Rack, (Black) Review

Sunlite Bicycle Beam Rear Rack, (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Despite what the other reviewer says, this rack is very simple to mount. I saw one of these on a bike on the street and immediately wanted one myself. It has a very distinctive, solid look, and indeed it feels very sturdy. I would trust it with a decent amount of weight. Other seatpost racks look a little flimsy and silly. Also, given the angles they bend at, I imagine they would stick up into the air unless you have a really relaxed seat angle. Anyway, I posted some customer photos so show how it works. The only problem is that I don't have enough seatpost length to give room to put anything on top of the rack (my saddle gets in the way).

Thule Top Deck Review

Thule Top Deck
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
easy to install, very sturdy, no worries of them loosening their grip on the luggage rack or my kayak. Only concern is that the angle the pads face is fixed, if it was maybe slightly adjustable they would be perfect, while they do fit my kayak pretty well I could see where some kayaks would pose a problem and leave plenty of open space against the pads.

Sunlite Gold Tec HD Tourer Rack - (Black) Review

Sunlite Gold Tec HD Tourer Rack - (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After I bought my first Sunlite pannier, when it was time to get another pannier, I bought another Sunlite. However, I bought an Avenir rack. Why? It was inexpensive. The only real downside, is that the rack was too small for the panniers.
So, I bought a Sunlite rack, and now my pannier really fits.
PROs: Light weight; sturdy; fits a multitude of bikes/sizes.
CONs: It may take more than a few minutes to install.
I only wish I could have gotten the gold-rods in a color to match my bike :(

Thule 166 Roof Rack Fit Kit Review

Thule 166 Roof Rack Fit Kit
Average Reviews:

Great product. Thule is not cheap but you will have a product that will last for years and the racks are more solid than anything else I have used. I could literally pull the car over on its side with the roof rack. I have used my current rack for well over ten years and just replaced the bars and will expect another ten. To transfer it to another car only requires buying the foot package and presto, it is on another car. And the kayak rack I just purchased is perfect also.

Bicycle Quick Clip-On Panniers (Unit:Single) Review

Bicycle Quick Clip-On Panniers (Unit:Single)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my third set of panniers and I must say that they are the best (and cheaper than my last set)! I purchased these on Amazon for three main reasons:
1.Safety: These panniers have an excellent mounting system and the bags are securely held to the rack. A simple click and you are virtually guaranteed that they will stay in place. I ride mainly on roads (sometimes fairly rough) but have recently ridden on some canal and mild single track without incident. The panniers also have a stiff backing which means that even if the packs are not completely full you don't have to worry about them getting stuck in your spokes (a problem which I had with my inexpensive (yet utilitarian) set as well as my significantly more expensive set). These packs have more reflective surface than any others that I have owned or seen on the market. It may not seem like much but dont ever underestimate the importance of being seen (I'll get off my soap box now).
2.Convenience: I am a commuter (and occasionally do some touring) and these panniers can be easily removed from the bike by simply depressing a lever and pulling up on the bag (these packs won the maker an InnoBike Design Award in 2009). Very convenient for packing and for taking with you to change in and out of gear/work clothes. They fit nicely in lockers. Did I mention that they come with a rain cover which stow in an underneath pocket?
3.Space: Plenty of space. My 15" laptop (I use a laptop sleeve which also holds mouse and power supply), important papers and work clothes (help pad the laptop) fit in one bag with shoes, toiletries, camp towel (high absorbant yet small), and lunch in the other (with room to spare for jackets etc. in cold weather). The three outside pockets hold extra bike tubes, tools, keys, wallet, etc. nicely. I really like the compressions straps. When I first got the bags they looked smaller that I had expected, but once you loosen up the compression straps a world of space is available. I often will get groceries on my way home and can easily fit what I need in the packs (although the lunch box may need to get strapped to the top of the rack if I have to get a gallon of milk among other things).
The packs do work on my universal rack but I did order the pakrac and I would suggest getting it (extremely light weight).
I was also impressed with the seller. My order arrived sooner than anticipated and in great shape.
