(More customer reviews)I picked up this item to fit a rack to my 2008 Gary Fisher Wahoo Disc mountain bike. The 31.8mm sized clamp worked perfectly. The clamp appears to be well made. It seems like a cast aluminum part that was then machined, drilled, and tapped.
I picked this over other similar items because the rack eyelets were in the back, as was the binder clamp. On most bikes I've seen, the seat tube is split on the back to allow compression. Other designs have the binder bolt on the front or 180 from the seat tube cut. That just didn't make sense to me, though it probably works perfectly as well.
The only caveat, is that "maybe" the binder bolt will get blocked by a rack arm. That entirely depends on your bike and the rack you pick however. In that case, the other seatpost rack clamp gizmo will work for you.
I'm not sure how durable this is, but so far it's doing great. Updates to follow if it falls apart. Check the pictures too.
