(More customer reviews)I received this rack for a Christmas present after ogling it online all year. It is as beautiful in real life as it is in the pictures. It is very simple to install and of course comes with all the mounting hardware. It really snazzes up my already elegant touring rig, and is very solid in construction. The gaps in the sides of the wooden panel are not large enough to affix a u-lock through the rack for transporting, which is what I had been doing with my old rack, but I just bring my lock around in a pannier now. There is an extension on the end of the rack for mounting a rear light. If your aesthetic relies on a hearty blend of form and function, you will love this rack! Also, the staff at pdw are super helpful. Five stars!

Michelin Avenir Elastic Bicycle Rack Straps Review

I just headed out the door, put my lunch on my bike rack, adjusted the strap to be nice and secure and was headed to work (about an 8 mile ride) when about half a mile in to my ride I heard my lunch fall then suddenly my handle bars went ape s**t. I grabbed on tight and quickly tried to back pedal (because that how my break works) and saw my chain hand been unhooked. As I stop myself with my shoes (took a bit)I got on the side walk and saw the strap somehow un-clipped and got tangled in my rear hub ripping my cassette off my single speed road bike. Not only was it completely done for, as I unhooked the other end that was still on the rack. So much tension had been created that when I barely moved it, it unhooked insanely fast and hit me right in the face(nice....) I was able to temporary fix my bike with my co-workers tools later that day at work (thank you MTA). This is my first attempt at building a bike and it would have been fine, but since I am no master mechanic and it doesn't feel or sound right now, I have to not only get a new rack strap but also save up to get it looked at my local bike shop. If this working class student didn't save up enough building it, thanks to this crappy low quality strap I have something else to take care of. Try a different style if your rack is on the rear, cuz otherwise it can be a more serious disaster.
Basically save your money.

Delta Mega Rack Bicycle Cargo Net Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these last week for carrying things on the back of my bike (I have a carrier mounted over the rear wheel). As one of the other reviewers noted, the four hooks aren't permanently attached to the bungee, there's just a smaller hook where the cord holds it. That might be a good thing, if it gives you more flexibility in moving the hooks. But in my case, as I was riding, I heard a "boing" sound and one of the hooks went flying off somewhere. So I returned the cargo net to the store. If the hooks were permanently attached instead, I'd say this was a great product.

(More customer reviews)Bought this to lock my bikes to a new hitch mounted bike rack. The lock is nice. I especially like the fact that both the hitch pin and the cable use the same key. Cable is long enough. Only problem I have is the hitch does not have a place to loop the cable thru.
Quality is good and with the plastic coated cable, it should protect the bike even during transportation bumps and jiggles.

Second, there is no possible way we can figure out to rack 6 bikes on this thing. The product description said single-sided - that is impossible - the spaces are WAY too close together. We also tried it double-sided (which wouldn't work in the space we have to rack bikes anyway) but that didn't work either. And mountain bike tires don't even fit into the rack

Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP Bicycle Trunk Bag with Rigid Molded Panels Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this bag, along with Topeak's Explorer rack, for commuting to work (20 mile round trip). Have been extremely pleased with the product thus far. Key observations:
+ Large capacity: Change of clothes, blackberry, etc. easily fit into the main compartment (I keep my work shoes at work). The side panniers provide considerable extra storage, as needed, for storing lunch, work files, jacket, etc.
+ Very functional: I highly recommend buying one of the Topeak racks with the MTX Quick Release features (such as the Explorer rack I purchased)...very easy to to slide bag on and off the rack and the bag is tightly secured when in use.
+ Quality construction: Only time will tell how the zippers hold up, but bag appears to be very durable and well-made.
+ Size/appearance: Since this is Topeak's largest trunk bag, was a little concerned it might look out of proportion on the bike and be heavy. But it looks fine, and it has not significantly altered the "drivability" of the bike.
+ Price: Amazon provided very competitive price and much lower than the local bike shops
- Rain cover extra: Maybe a little bit of a bummer that the rain cover is an extra accessory. I bought the rain cover, but a reasonable alternative is to just wrap your cargo in plastic bags if you're expecting rain. The trunk bag itself is not rain proof, so you will need some type of protection if you do not want your cargo to get wet.
Overall, extremely pleased with the product thus far and highly recommend it to those that want a convenient, durable storage option with considerable capacity.

Thule 594XT Sidearm Roof Mount Bike Rack Review

(More customer reviews)This rack is lightweight, sturdy, and quick to load and unload. It holds the bike steady on twisting mountain roads and at highway speeds substantially in excess of the posted signs. I had to do a very unscheduled unload while attempting a low clearance In-n-Out Burger drive through this past weekend. There's nothing like trying to unload a roof rack while several cars in line behind me watch and laugh, but I had the bike off the roof in under 20 seconds.
Assembling the rack is another story. It is not intuitive and the instructions reminded me of another Scandanavian company--Ikea (this is not a good thing). Between attaching the Thule fairing and the bike rack, it took me about two hours. Of course, once assembled, it attaches and removes easily.

Delta Monet Single-Bike Rack with Wood Shelf Review

(More customer reviews)Figured the negative reviews were just sour grapes. Should have paid attention and now Ive got a broken rack and a goofed up wall.
First lets start with the rack, it is NOT shiny chrome/stainless with grey hook covers. It is painted dull matte grey and the paint was scuffed from box wear over about 30% of its area. The wood shelf looked bad like it was a recycled grade school desktop complete with scuffs and marks which wold not wipe off. The grey covers pictured are instead a garish red that would be more at home in the garage instead of mounting a fancy road bike in the living room where this was to go. So to sum up it looks like crap all the way around.
Since I ignored my better judgement I decided to install it anyway just to have some place to get the bike out of the way. Should have been simple, drill two holes into the drywall and studs and secure with 2 included wood screws. One screw went in ok though it was a chore not to strip the head as it was a very cheap and soft screw. Second screw had the head TWIST RIGHT OFF as I got it close to seated. This was using a hand screw driver in pre drilled holes before anyone thinks it was some impact driver or trying to gorilla hands it into an undrilled stud.
How cheap does a screw have to be to break off from being twisted into place like that? I guess it was a blessing as now all I have is a broken screw that is sunk 2 inches into my wall, protruding 1mm out of the drywall where it will be impossible to remove without cutting the wall open to get more purchase on the shaft and then patching the drywall and repainting. Think I will just file it down and paint it instead so I dont look at it and get pissed all the time. But this was as I say a blessing as it could have broken with my carbon fiber road bike hanging on it causing a LOT more grief and expense.
Don't buy this rack, you will regret it. Its ugly, badly made and will probably break and hurt your bike in the process.

Yakima StickUp 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack (1.25 or 2-Inch Receiver) Review

(More customer reviews)Overall, the quality of materials, and design and construction of this rack are outstanding. Loading and unloading bikes from the rack is a breeze and the rack easily folds out of the way when not in use.
I have 2 complaints, however. The first is the straps that hold back tire in the wheel pocket. The straps are plastic, and have teeth on them to engage a ratcheting mechanism that you are supposed to use to tighten the strap down. The issue is that the plastic is fairly soft, and even a moderate amount of ratcheting tension will bend or shear off the plastic teeth. In fact, I finally stopped using the ratchets and simply pull the free end the the strap with my hand until tight instead. Strangely enough, even though the strap can easily be removed and replaced in seconds with no tools, Yakima does not appear to offer it as a separate part. You must buy the entire wheel pocket assembly.
My other complaint is the 2 inch receiver adapter that comes with the rack. It appears to be very slightly smaller than it should be. As a result, the entire rack flops around from left to right and up and down during travel as the adapter wiggles around inside the receiver.
Other than those two issues, I am satisfied with this rack.
