It could possibly hold a child's play kayak of about five feet long, but certainly not an adult boat. It is flimsy, bends easily, and is a useless product. The idea is great(I bought a gravity bike rack from Amazon which is fabulous. It holds both of my bikes against the garage wall without the need for drilling - see my review of that item for a photo) but this product is not capable of performing as advertised. I ended up donating it to our local hospital thrift shop.
